The UK logistics market makes up 10 per cent of GDP. Logistics operators are among the UK's leading businesses. Fourteen per cent of Britain's most successful companies (listed in the FTSE 250) are directly involved in transport and logistics.
The freight industry is also a significant employer, whether directly or indirectly. Railways directly employ 42,000 people in the UK, ports/shipping directly employs 24,000, 521,000 are employed as LGV and van drivers and 71,000 are employed in the management and administration of transport operations. A further 649,000 are involved in other transport related roles.

In addition, Multimodal has the full support of all the major trade press and trade associations. TIACA, FTA, CILT, RHA, RFG, BIFA and UKWA who all have a presence at the show, with the FTA, RFG and CILT scheduling major association meetings during the event. |
